FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is sclerotherapy?

Spider veins are those little threadlike veins that appear at the skin surface. They're really sort of the end of the line. The deep veins of the leg are very large, and just like a tree that has a trunk and then large branches, and then smaller branches, and then smaller branches, and then twigs, and then leaves. The spider veins are at the very end of the tree. In many cases, the spider veins are a sign of a deeper vein issue. A more medical issue. Sometimes they're just isolated to the skin surface in which time they're more sort of cosmetic. Some patients will notice the first appearance of spider veins in the teenage years around puberty, and then progressively get worse.
